The Department of Biotechnology was started in the year 2002: It offers B.Tech. Biotechnology course at UG level, M.Tech. at PG level and Ph.D., at research level. The 17 experienced faculty members are an asset to the department, two of whom are young scientist in DST-SERB and WoS-B by DST, New Delhi. The diversified interests of the faculty members of the department facilitate the teaching learning and research activities of the department. There are totally 10 non-teaching staff and 2 programmers in the department for monitoring day-to-day activities. There is a well appreciated student-staff ratio of about 1:11.4 in the Department
Objective
To prepare students to meet the manpower requirements in the field of Biotechnology in rural and urban areas where there is ample scope for its diverse application.

- Our efforts are strengthened by collaboration with various National / International level Institutions and Multinational Companies, as well as visiting Scientists.
- Healthy interaction with both academic professionals and Biotech industries
- Placement at various industries and research institutes and also in Foreign countries
Work recent with upcoming areas and make research strength spans over diverse disciplines like Gene diversity, Biocontrol & Biofertilizer agents, PGPRs, Conservation of endangered species, Anticancerous activities, etc. |
