J. Philip Robinson is a Professor and Head, Department of Biotechnology, K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Namakkal District of Tamil Nadu. He has completed his under graduation in the discipline of Plant Science from Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli, and secure University Rank. He has completed his PG in the same discipline from St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirapplli. He has joined as Junior Research Fellow in major research project funded by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
He has published more than 25 research papers in peer reviewed journals, published 4 book chapters and published one book entitled “Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology”. He is the technical editor for the Asian Journal of Plant Science and Journal of Biotechnology. He has received Young Scientist Award from Tamil Nadu State Council of Science and Technology, Chennai for the year 2009. Presently he is the Coordinator for DBT STAR College Scheme of K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology. He has conducted awareness programmes and orientation programmes and workshops for the self help groups, farmer’s communities, school teachers and PG students in the field of Life sciences. He is the Principle Investigator for two major funded research Projects sponsored by AICTE and DBT New Delhi. One Full time research Scholar completed Doctoral Research Programme under his guidance.
He is a Resource person for Green School Programme Jointly Organized by Centre for Science and Environment, New Delhi and CSI Synod. His field of interest includes Conservation of plant species, Environmental Biotechnology Agricultural Biotechnology and Eco Theology.
